THE VISIT OF AL-HABIB OMAR TO MOROCCO, 2019

In 2019, Al-Habib Umar bin Hafid, a prominent scholar, a religious leader, and a well-respected wali of Allah worldwide, was invited by Sheikh Moulay Ali Raissuni to attend the “First International Sufism Gathering in Chauen,” near Jabal Alam.

As a special guest who traveled from Yemen to Morocco, Al-Habib Umar was also invited to visit various historical sites in Morocco, as well as key maqams and to meet with Moroccan scholars and members of the Prophet’s family.

Each of these visits was accompanied by representatives of the Prophet's family, descendants of the involved families, and scholars, a tradition well understood by Al-Habib Umar himself. He has a deep understanding and knowledge of the Ahlulbait and scholars in Morocco. He is also well-versed in the etiquette and protocols of love, visitation, and Sufism.

During Al-Habib Umar’s visit to Morocco in 2019:

1. In Tetouan, Habib Umar visited Zawiyah Harraqia, accompanied by Sheikh Al Ghali Al Harrak.

2. In Chefchaouen, Habib Umar visited Zawiyah Raissunia, accompanied by Moulay Ali Raissuni.

3. In Jabal Alam, Habib Umar visited the maqam of Imam Abdussalam ibn Mashish, accompanied by senior representatives of the Mashishi family, including Sayyids.

4. In Jabal Zerhoun, Habib Umar visited the maqam of Imam Idris Akbar, accompanied by Sadah Shabihi Al Idrisi.

5. In Fez, Habib Umar visited the maqam of Imam Idris Al Azhar, with Sayyid Muhammad Amin Al Idrisi Al Hasani and Sadah Al Idrisi.

6. In Fez, Habib Umar also visited the maqam of Sidi Ahmad Tijani, accompanied by Sayyid Muhammad Amin Al Hasani and several Tijani family members.

This clearly shows that Sayyid Muhammad Amin is a respected Sharif among the Ahlulbait, scholars, and residents of Fez, as he was the primary representative leading the revered visit of Al-Habib Umar.

This is not unusual given that Sayyid Muhammad Amin is frequently invited and serves as a representative of the Ahlulbait at various official events in Morocco and particularly in Fez.

During the visit, Al-Habib Umar also visited Sufi zawiyahs and Dar al-Quran where the founders were not from the Ahlulbait:

1. Habib Umar visited Zawiyah Fasia, accompanied by Prof Dris Fasi from the same family.

2. Habib Umar also visited a university, accompanied by Prof Fasi, a professor and vice-president of the university.

3. Habib Umar visited Dar Al Quran Ben Kirane, accompanied by the children of the late Sheikh al-Qurra' al-Makkah, Bin Kirane.
